Acupuncture in Vila do Conde
An approach rooted in traditional Chinese medicine for managing pain, anxiety, insomnia, allergies, asthma and eating disorders. It complements medical care rather than replacing it.
What it is
Acupuncture is one of the pillars of traditional Chinese medicine. It works on the body's functional balance — the nervous system, immunity, digestion, sleep — through the insertion of fine needles at specific points. It's a safe, gentle and well-tolerated practice.
Alongside needle treatment, we may use Tui Na (therapeutic massage), cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, auriculotherapy and Chinese dietetics. Each plan is individualised and built after a careful assessment.

How it works
- 01
Initial assessment
Detailed clinical history, tongue and pulse observation, and building an energetic picture of the case.
- 02
Treatment plan
Defining the expected number of sessions, frequency and techniques to be used.
- 03
Acupuncture session
Fine needles inserted at specific points while you rest. The needles stay in for around 20–30 minutes.
- 04
Complementary techniques
When indicated, integrating Tui Na, cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, auriculotherapy or dietary advice.
- 05
Reassessment
Periodic review of progress and adjustment of the plan. The effects build up over the course of the sessions.
Complements, doesn't replace
Acupuncture is complementary care. It doesn't replace medical follow-up or prescribed treatments, it works alongside them. Whenever needed, we refer to the clinic's medical team.
